The unit is arranged as a two-pass exchanger and is built around a 6.13-inch shell, 45-inch shell length, and roughly 50.84-inch overall length. Construction includes a Brass hub, Brass shell, 0.25-inch Copper cooling tubes, Cast Iron end bonnets, and optional zinc anodes. Operating limits are 250 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 350°F maximum temperature. The B/SB platform is commonly used for hydraulic power units, lube oil systems, and general industrial cooling duty. Material options such as copper nickel tubes, bronze bonnets, and zinc anodes expand its usefulness in harsher water conditions.
